By Junglees, for Junglees

In Hindi and Urdu, junglee means "of the jungle or wild." During British colonial rule in India, the term was often used derogatorily to describe people or behaviors that the colonizers considered "uncultured" or "barbaric." It reflected a colonial perspective that equated "wildness" with inferiority and excoticism.

Over time, women in India have reclaimed "junglee" as a badge of honor – a term that celebrates defiance, independence, and the refusal to conform. At Junglee the Label, we celebrate that spirit – free and unapologetic.
